Review

Yeah this album didn't do it for me, I've never heard vaporwave, or chopped and screwed, so this was unexplored territory for me. Now I'm down for listening to new genres, but this wasn't my thing. I think that really comes down to 2 things, I'm not a person that listens to music for a "vibe" and melody has a lot importance to me, this album didn't really check either of those boxes. There was a couple things that were experimental, and I thought actually worked really well it its favor, but other seemed pseudo-experimental, and just didn't fit. Apparently repetition is a big part of chopped and screwed, but for me the amount of repetition was the weakest point of this project. Apart from that, sometimes the songs were just, nothing, I really thought they brought nothing to the album, to music, it was just, noises that are so ambient they are practically nothing. There's a big importance problem with this album, yes, you can make all this music, and you can make it sound like this, but I just don't think it actually contributes anything to the sound. I mean I know a whole genre was basically born from this record, but from what I can tell this is on the weaker end of that genre anyways.
