SML is a quintet consisting of bassist Anna Butterss, synthesist Jeremiah Chiu, saxophonist Josh Johnson, percussionist Booker Stardrum, and guitarist Gregory Uhlmann. Their debut album, created from long improvisations recorded at the now-closed Highland Park venue ETA in Los Angeles, features a variety of engaging tracks. Notable songs include "Industry," which combines bouncy sax and drums for a catchy and immersive experience, and "Feed The Birds," the standout track with its intense composition and excellent rhythm. Overall, a wonderful, aweing experience that I will come back to again in the near future, for those out of the loop, I feel sorry, but for those here, go purchase this album, it's truly something you have to hear.
